The media claims that holiday weight gain can be 5-10 pounds, but research shows that it is generally only 1.5 pounds. “Before joining Force Barbell, I sat around my house eating bad foods and not performing any physical activity for months. I had tried multiple different diets and exercise regimens in the past with no success. The Group Training at Force Barbell is unlike anything I have ever done! It is a family-like setting of men and women of all ages who support you along your fitness journey. It was not easy at first, but after the 6 week challenge, and seeing a complete body transformation, no longer pre-diabetic, and off all cholesterol medications, I knew had to sign up for an entire year with this gym! My life has changed so much! I have so much energy now, am sleeping great again, and can finally keep up with my 3 and 6 year old daughters! When I enrolled in the 6-week challenge in April 2017, I was 51 and so out of shape. I had been noticing a marked decrease in my strength and balance, so when the challenge popped up in my FaceBook feed, I was intrigued. It sounded like exactly what I needed, and it was! I wasn’t overweight, so I was surprised to find that my body fat percentage was 31% (32+% is considered obese!), and that my skeletal muscle mass was way below where it should be. During the challenge, I worked out three times a week, used the nutrition plan, and ate fairly “clean.” The first few weeks were hard, and I was so sore. But I kept coming back, because the trainers were so supportive and motivating and the community was so encouraging. At the end of the 6 weeks, I had gained 7 pounds of muscle and lost 9 pounds of fat! My “after” body fat percentage was a healthy 24%. Now these workouts and this community have become a crucial and integral part of my life, and I continue to see advancements in my strength and balance, all of which keep me coming back!
“I started a six week challenge with Force Barbell in October 2017. My first weigh-in I was at 390.8 pounds. I had tried to lose weight for 18 months on my own and was only down from my high of 419 pounds by 28 pounds. My first workout was hard, but Justin and Sean kept me motivated and kept reassuring me that I could be successful when I wanted to quit. This is where Force Barbell is different in my opinion than any other gym I have ever been at. The trainers, all of them, have a vested interest in helping you achieve your goals. I also lowered my cholesterol and blood glucose levels significantly. My doctor lowered my glucose medication by half and indicated that I would be completely off in six months at this rate.
