Nathan Pelton
Nathan has been a long time member at Force Barbell. We are so excited to have him learning along side our coaches and wanting to contribute and give back to our Force Family! Take a look at why Nate wanted to intern with us! Give Nate a nice warm welcome!
“I grew up here in Carmel, Indiana. I attended Carmel High School where I ran track/field and cross country for four years ( I even did diving for a year). After high school I attended Ball State University where I received a degree in biology and began my weightlifting career. After graduating college I began my career as an EMT with Delaware County EMS. I plan on attending paramedic school this summer, and my end goal is to work as a fire medic here in the Hamilton county/Indianapolis area.
My freshman year of college I found Force Barbell online and began coming here to train in 2014. Since then I have fallen in love with weightlifting of all types and have looked for more ways to be involved with the sport. I chose force barbell as my internship location because I hope one day to help coach here part time and help give back to the force family.”
Brock Martin
Brock is one of our college interns this Spring. We love having interns to show them our way of fitness and training to help mold the next generation of coaches! Read on to learn more about Brock! And give him a warm welcome when you see him!
“I started strength training in middle school to improve my performance as a wrestler. It was not until high school, though, that my love for strength and conditioning sparked when I began training at a local sport performance facility. It is at this facility where I began my first strength and conditioning internship at the age of 16, where I learned the basics of resistance training, exercise selection, and motor learning.
In 2014, after beginning my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at the University of Indianapolis, I began my second sport performance internship at Unbreakable Sport Performance. USP allowed me to accumulate large amounts of experience coaching individuals of all walks of life, such as multi-sport athletes, tactical personnel, competitive strength sport athletes, and everybody in between. Four years later, I began my academic internship with Force Barbell.
I am currently finishing my last semester of my undergraduate degree and plan to graduate in May 2018 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. Following this, I hope to continue my education and pursue a graduate degree in Exercise Physiology. When I am not coaching I like to spend my time relaxing, studying, sleeping, or training. I am also a competitive 90kg powerlifter.”
